Fair Trade with Micro-StartUp.

Micro.StartUp developed a platform enabling skilled people worldwide (Sellers), to offer Work, Services or Products. They can meet and negociate with the people who demand it (Buyers). But Buyers can also active search Sellers for special Services or Products. The use of the website is free for Buyers and Sellers, Micro-StartUps regulations endorses the 10 principles of the World Fair Trade Organization and UNO.

Micro-StarUp does not participate, it facilitates and supports the processes to come to a deal between Buyer and Seller

To be accessable and understandable for not-English-speaking and/or lower-educated people, Micro-StartUp simplified all processes and translated it in 45 languages. But communication on the website is in English. To facilitate good communication among its users, a translation-tool with instruction is integrated. Simultaneaously using this by Seller and Buyer, enables worldwide negociating at eye-level, a total new experience!

How it works.

Users who want to offer or demand labour or a service, first have to registrate before making any deal. With the registration, terms and conditions Micro-StartUp need to have been read, understand and accepted. After registration users will receive a confirmation with a usercode (5 random digits/letters) by email. Your personal data will never be shared with third parties.

Micro-StartUp does not allow to publish photos of its users, Micro-StartUp does not distinguish between gender, religion or ethnicity. Micro-StartUp does not allow minors < 15 years to offer labour/services on the website. In order to give buyers and sellers the opportunity to reveal themelves, they expose themselves with a listing of skills and experiences.

Principaly may users expose and operate anonymously just with their usercode, as long as no abuse, serious complaints or fraud takes place. Is this the case, Micro-StartUp will cooperate with authorities to resolve this and when necessary eliminate the anonymity for the user concerned. When reporting such cases, suspension of and / or termination of the agreement and membership with this user will be likely.

It is responsibility of the user to determine what, if any, taxes apply to the payments you make or receive, and it is solely responsibility of the user to assess, collect, report and remit the correct taxes to the appropriate authority.

Communicating about the assignment at the website is possible with an internal messenger-system. Take notice; this messenger system is only meant for functional communication about the assignement, personal messages are not allowed.

For other users at the website, you will only be visable with usercode, city and country.

Seller and Buyer should work out all details incl. payment to come to an agreement, before to registrate as an order. Every order from a buyer is given a unique transactioncode consisting of 8 digits and / or letters, with which, at all times, everything relating to the assignment can be retrieved. The transactioncode can only be deciphered by those involved and Micro-StartUp support.

Sellers using Micro-StartUp will deliver conform the agreement, which means within the agreed deadline and always within maximum 21 days. In case of a delay, the Seller must notify the Buyer in time, in order to reach a new binding and acceptable agreement when possible. For larger projects Micro-StartUp always recommends to work in milestones.

Micro-StartUp ratings system

Micro-StartUp is a non-profit organisation and does not ask any fee for its service. The only contribution users have to make, is to participate in the mandatory ratings for sellers and buyers. Honest ratings are the elixer for Micro-StartUp and the recognation for its mediation. It is joining this rating system which will help future users make their decissions.Most of all important are the ratings for the sellers.

Every order finaly finishes with the request for seller and buyer, to give a rating/assessment + how the business partner has completed the deal.

Please take note, to be able to judge well, Micro-StartUp, as well as users, highly depend on ratings. In case of not joining the Micro-StartUp rating system after a deal however, Micro-StartUp will ask this User for their next assignment or service, to execute the “forgotten“ rating before continuing, or tto make a small payment of USD 1,00 as contribution, which will be used to cover the expenses of maintenance of the website.

Ratings are an important promotiontool, a prove of your expertise and partnership.

Why Micro-StartUp is safe

Buyer and/or seller are always free to make a deal directly, outside the bookings system of Micro-StartUp. In this case however, Micro-StartUp cannot give any guarantee, so the resolution center of Micro-StartUp can’t assist , interfear or mediate with this deal in case of problems or disagreements.

Every order finaly finishes with the request for seller and buyer, to give a rating/assessment + how the business partner has completed the deal.

Assignments made via the bookingssystem of Micro-StartUp are clear, safer and more satisfying for both, seller and buyer. In case of disagreements, the resolutioncenter Micro-StartUp will mediate

Ratings are an important promotiontool, a prove of your expertise and partnership.

For Micro-StartUp the normal warranty conditions always apply and so disagreements should always first be resolved by seller and buyer. In case the problem remains, Micro-StartUp resolution center will, if necessary, issue a binding decision for both parties. Micro-StartUp reminds you in case of repeatedly violation of the rules, it will lead to the ultimate penalty, termination membership and/or use of the Micro-StartUp service for the concerned user.

Why Micro-StartUp seems so cheap?

Micro-StartUp established as a non-profit organisation targeting the underpriviliged, that’s why the service had to be free. Nowadays Micro-StartUp is open to all people. Micro-StartUp still succeeds in offering free service by reducing operational costs as much as possible for the benefit of all its users. But support, maintenance and further developments are expensive, so Micro-StartUp still depends on donations and sponsors.

Micro-StartUp has no profit objective and does not intend to ask a fee for the mediation of the members. As a result, the participating members can keep the fees they earn in full without deducting costs. The sellers fee is netto, what allows our sellers to ask lower and more attractive fees for Buyers than usual. The pricerange for product and services starts with USD 5,- as minimum, increases as desired with one dollar or more upwards.

Registration as a buyer and as a seller

Many of our sellers are lower- or even non-educated and mostly monolingual. To use the service of Micro-StartUp, registration is mandatory for sellers and buyers. For registration as a seller extensional information is needed, an additional registrationpart is attached. Both registrationforms are meant solely for Micro-StartUp, no data or given information will be shared with third parties.

Fill in the registration-form: First name, surname, complete address, emailaddress, telephonenumber and kind of Governmental ID you would use in case of (returned) shipment. You have to read and accept the terms and conditions of Micro-StartUp, before proceding to obtain the Micro-StartUp-usercode by email. Choose a password, confirm it and receive the usercode by email. For the Micro-StartUp processing it is absolutely not allowed to have more than one usercode. Breaking this rule, will lead to suspension or even termination of the agreement and further use of the Micro-StartUp-service. On the other hand, a user may operate with more than one bocx. For different specialities/categories, he can create different boxces.

After registration you’ll always have access to your profile to make changes in ¨My Micro-StartUp ¨. As a service we set up My Micro-StartUp with an overview of all your messages, services, sales, what has happened with it and your given ratings.

With the acceptance of the application, the new Micro-StartUp seller is ready to start. Micro-StartUp sellers are always free to ask Micro-StartUp support. An integrated translationtool as support, enables all users to communicate in English language.

NB In the context of the Fair Trade Act United Nations, Youngsters under 15 years, are not allowed to register as a Seller. However, in cases where the offered is not exercised as a main profession, registration with parental consent is possible if Micro-StartUp is informed of this, when registering.

Micro-StartUp internal messenger-system

Communication between sellers and buyers as well with the Micro-StartUp branches, takes place via the internal Micro-StartUp messenger system. We recommend both seller and buyer, to do all communication via this channel to keep the overview. Only then, in case of a dispute between buyer and seller, mediation and resolution by Micro-StartUp is possible.

Communicating via Micro-StartUp messenger is only allowed in English language. For your convenience, we have integrated a translationtool, to convert your texts and you received messages. As long as users are registrated as a member, all contacts and mails are saved and always callable, when not deleted from the user.

From sellers some more information to register is needed. Except the regular data, also, profession, mob.phone + landline, address office when not home, e-mailadress, Skype, chose payment method availability, upload governmental ID with photo (cover registrationnumber), acceptation Terms & Conditions Micro-StartUp and finally signing the Micro-StartUp-contract.

Guarantee on quality

Doing business is a matter of trust. Sellers, but most of all buyers, must count on reliability and deliveries that meet the quality requirements.

This means for instance for translators. A Seller who doesn’t speak a language to a certain level is for Micro-StartUp not acceptable as a translator, this Seller should not do translations in that language.

Seller-Translators, which are no-speakers of the language translated, doing translations with a translation-tool will be suspended and deleted from Micro-StartUp listing, for violating the trust of customers. An incorrect translation for an application or a business deal , or even a loveletter, can have major negative consequences, without the person even knowing about it. This has to do with trust.

Pretending to be a translator able to translate manually, but actually offering a translation by computer translation-tool made, is fraud !

It should be clear, Buyers searching a translation, donot search a selfmade copy & paste translation-tool product.

The same applies to teacher giving (extra) lessons, by ¨teacher¨ who are not one, providing incorrect or false information. Such teachers damage confidence and have negative consequences for buyers. Such teachers must and will be removed from the Micro-StartUp. : Although it is of course allowed that experienced professionals can act as teachers, but always and only with this mention.

Enough reasons showing why feedback is extremely important. Complains about Sellers delivering bad quality will lead to inspection and interrogation. Depending on the cause, Micro-StartUp will take action when necessary, which can lead to suspension and ultimately to termination membership Micro-StartUp.

Payments



You can be paid directly from buyers, with only the regular shipment costs for buyers and sellers.

A solution for a project-payment could be, to work in milestones. Just like the project, a total amount of USD 100,- could be split in 2 parts with 2 payments of USD 50,-.

Larger deals/amounts have to be checked at the CreditCard suppliers and/or PayPal, concerning guarantee and reversal payments. Because of the different conditions, Micro-StartUp points out Sellers to pay extra attention and to get paid in milestones with enough time interval and ship or send the service/product by Registered Mail or at least with Track & Trace.

Micro-StartUp does not recommend to do payments via Western Union or via Post in letters with payments in cash, because Micro-StartUp has no influence in case of a disagreement between Seller and Buyer.

Micro-StartUp is developing a wallet-service for deliveries and payments (Payments via Micro-StartUp, to be paid out after delivery or positive Track&Trace).

Seller and buyer should always communicate and agree in advance which payment method and modus will be used.

Micro-StartUp service doesnot includes any fee. It is your responsibility to determine what, if any, taxes apply to the payments you make or receive, and it is solely your responsibility to assess, collect, report and remit the correct taxes to the appropriate authority .

How to set up a bocx for sellers

After you have registered as a user, you can apply for ¨seller¨. To sell your service or product, you need to inform people.This exposure, called a bocx, will be used for your ad. Every bocx get the unique code of the seller (with additional 1 – 9 in case Seller has more Bocxes). Simply go to the section to set up a posting/bocx, chose ¨bocx¨

To optimize your ad, you fill in and decorate the available space complete as you want. Your usercode is mentioned in the Bocx-code together with the day of launch . Make furthermore clear what you offer, for how much, in how much time. If more and other services are offered, a seller can set up and use more bocxes. Bocxes from one seller get a reference and are linked.

All bocxes have the same size, choose the words for the text well, be briefly and to the point. You can attach foto’s or a video concerning your product or service. Mind the lay out, because this bocx will be your businesscard.

Add or attach the necessary information/picture/design and submit it. After approval your bocx will be published in the concerning catalogue.

Become a Buyer

Search the right Category and paragraph of the listing of bocxes. Choosing the right freelancer is easy:

  • 2. Check out the feedback from buyers like you.
  • 3. Choose the package that best fits your needs.
  • 4. Contact the freelancer with any questions to make sure they are aligned with your expectations.

Buyer active, by posting his order in Buyers Request

The section Buyers Request is created for visitors/Buyers searching products or services. Visitors/Buyers can handle pro-active, by posting an ¨Micro-Ad¨ for the product or service they are looking for. This Micro-Ad describes what is wanted, can be posted and after approval, it will be listed as a Buyers Request in the concerning paragraph. Sellers, but also visitors who are not member, should regularly check the Buyers Requests to see all the offered/asked work, products and services..

After you have registered, go to the section ¨Buyers Request¨ and choose to set up a posting/Bocx, chose ¨posting¨. Answer the questions, add or attach the necessary information/picture/design and submit it. After approval the required Buyers Request will be posted and becomes visable in the chosen paragraph of professions.

When a visitor or a seller is interested in a posted Micro-Ad from a buyer in which a service or product is asked for, with just one click, the internal messenger enables contact with this Buyer.

When a deal is made and registered, it will automaticly become the remark: pendent.

My ¨Micro-StartUp¨

Visitors who want to become active, can register with two options, registration as a Seller or as Buyer. With a registration you will have an account, called my Micro-StartUp.

As a Seller, you will find on your account the following content: your registrationdetails, the links to your bocxs, your contacts, your messages, your sales.

As a Buyer you will find the following content: your registrationdetails,, your posted custom orders, your contacts, your messages and your purchasements.

How to start selling

  • Extra : quick delivery, or spec. version, allow revisions

  • Settle: fill in 2nd part questionnaire >> submit
  • Confirm the link in your e-mail, receive bocx-code
  • Wait: within 24 hours your bocx will be approved/public
